BC Family Day

The British Columbia Liberal government introduced a long-promised statutory holiday to break up the long stretch between New Year's and Easter.

"Family Day will now fall on the second Monday of every February starting in 2013...." (The Globe and Mail, Monday, May 28, 2012).

Businesses operating in British Columbia should update their policies and procedures manuals and employee handbooks to reflect this new information before February 2013. BC now has ten statutory holidays per year:

  •  Please note: Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and Boxing Day are not statutory holidays.
Managers responsible for policies and procedures manuals and employee handbooks should use this opportunity to update, edit and revise other documented policies and procedures.

Consider hiring an experienced contract writer to ensure the work is completed quickly and professionally with minimal disruption to concurrent staff projects and activities.
